Licensed Practical Nurse - Billingslea Recovery Residence About River Edge Behavioral Health Serving more than 10,000 Georgians, River Edge continues to be one of the state's leading resources for mental health, substance use disorder treatments and supports as well as individuals with intellectual and development disabilities. The full continuum of River Edge Behavioral Health services provides state-of-the-art treatment and support services for more than 13,000 children, youth, families and adults annually, who experience mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities. The Billingslea Recovery Residence is a long term residential facility that provides a supportive alcohol and drug free environment in a community setting. This service will enhance alternately funded detoxification services and are approximately six to twelve months in duration. This service is provided to adult males, age 21 to 65, with substance abuse issues residing in Bibb, Jones, Monroe, and Twiggs counties. An integral part of the recovery residence is community living and acceptance of responsibility for day to day living with other consumers must attend the Substance Abuse Wellness and Recovery Program at River Edge Behavioral Health Center, which includes 6 months of aftercare. Continuation of a structured program affords the client the opportunity to reinforce skills, disclose problems encountered during transition into a society free from mood altering substances. Location: Billingslea Recovery Residence Responsibilities: Cares for mental health/substance dependent/developmentally disabled persons. Observes clients, charts and reports changes in clients' condition, and takes any necessary action. Administers prescribed medications and notes times/amounts on clients' charts. Measures/records vital signs, key statistics (height/weight, etc.). Provide basic client care and treatment. Assist clients with activities of daily living, as needed. May supervise support staff and health techs. Ensures safety and security of clients. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience): High school diploma or GED certification required. Must complete/retain certifications in the following: Healthcare Providers CPR/FA/AED, CPI, Defensive Driving (if assigned), various safety trainings, Essential Learning courses as required, and any other courses or certifications that are assigned/required. Knowledge of simple nursing care, first-aid, personal care, and hygiene basics. Must have good interpersonal skills, the ability to interface with clients, co-workers, and others. Additional Information: POSITION REQUIRES FLEXIBILITY IN WORK HOURS TO INCLUDE HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS.
