Student Interns (5) Dine Policy Institute Tsaile Campus Student Employment Duty Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm - onsite Summary/Objective of Position: Be familiar with office etiquette and administrative duties. Have general knowledge of the research process and transcription of interviews (online) and focus group (zoom). Have the necessary computer skills to complete virtual tasks. Schedule meeting times and dates with Chapter Houses and Navajo Nation Council Sub-Committees. Performing essential office duties that include some research transcription of interviews, data input, data (quantitative and qualitative) analysis, answering and making phone call, and some traveling to collect data (after it is safe to travel). Office duties Include the following but not limited to answering and making phone calls, making copies of documents, and filing documents, and administrative paper work. Research: Collect data through community surveys, keep track of on survey monkey, searching online for literatures to particular subject area, set up interviews for current study, and do interview sessions with community members. Be able to transcribe interviews, code survey, and inputting data into a spreadsheet to be analyzed. data (quantitative and qualitative) analysis. Writing and editing research materials for the final draft to the research documents. Do presentation at various conference, meetings, summits, and Chapter Houses. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience Minimum: Enroll in Fall 2023 and Spring 2023, and be familiar with research process, data (quantitative and qualitative) analysis, and computer skills. Have a laptop or desk top computer. Preferred: Individual with great research experience outside classroom activities. Have done quantitative and qualitative analysis. Good communication skills on the phone and video. Knowledge: Research Process, data (quantitative and qualitative) analysis, Indigenous Research Methodology, Indigenous Knowledge, Dine Fundamental Law, Research Process, Navajo Nation Government, Chapter House Organizations and Operation, and Navajo Nation Council Delegates. Skills: Computer skills, spreadsheet, graphing, microsoft word, and public speaking. Abilities: Public speaking, work independently, be organized, take initiative on tasks, and dependable. Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel: No physical work require. Other Requirement(s): Understand Navajo Language and at least try to communicate in Navajo.
