Operations Team Member : Workshop Location: Huntingdon Hours: Full Time, Permanent A supplier of high: quality metals and materials, Goodfellow specialises in the research and development sectors with a strong focus on science and industry. Their technical teams have worked on materials that have contributed to scientific breakthroughs in nuclear fusion, the fight against COVID:19, and have been used in probes that have travelled through space as far as Saturn. The Role This role is to work in the workshop preparing the specialist materials for dispatch to the customers. The work is constant, with peaks of work required to fulfil orders on time. You will be using lathes, guillotines and mills mainly and there are opportunities to learn additional skills e. g. preparation and packing, to both enhance your abilities and to be able to add more skills to the team. These are the key responsibilities of this specific role: Ensure Safety within work area by completing safety checks, following SWPs Select correct material from stock for finished item Safely use workshop equipment to produce items for customer orders Produce finished item to production sheet specifications, minimising wastage to meet customer expectations, using workshop equipment safely Ability to understand engineering drawings Inspection of finished items Accurate completion of documentation and systems for each completed job Ensure timely turnaround of orders Additional tasks as required In addition to the above, Operation Team Members are expected to: Keep the work environment safe and tidy Ensure that all tasks are performed to the required standard and quality to meet both internal and external customer requirements. Update stock quantities via internal stock management systems Confirm and check order details Maintain and store stock to a safe and accurate standard Flexibility within the team is a key requirement.
