**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD** GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Will perform UH-60 and CH-47 aircraft maintenance as assigned. Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of aircraft electrical systems, tactical communications security (COM-SEC), communication, navigation, identification friend or foe (IFF), and flight control equipment and mechanical systems component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and the ability to determine functionality of complex electrical systems. DUTIES: Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions in electrical and electronic components, including solid state and transistorized subsystems Repairs, replaces, and performs operational and preventive checks and alignments on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics and controlled cryptographic equipment Removes, installs, repairs, adjusts and tests electrical/electronic elements of assemblies and components according to technical manuals, directives, and safety procedures Repairs aircraft instrument systems. Applies principles of electricity/electronics, hydrostatic motion, pneumatics and hydraulics applicable to repair aircraft instrument systems Troubleshoots equipment and traces avionic and cryptographic equipment wiring harnesses using technical manuals and schematic drawings to diagnose and isolate faults and effect repairs Performs unit maintenance on special and common hand tools and test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment Cleans, preserves, and stores electrical/electronic components and aircraft instruments Remove, repair, services, installs, and troubleshoots nickel-cadmium batteries Uses and performs operator maintenance on ground support equipment, common and special tools Requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft electrical and avionics equipment systems Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance Other duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: HS diploma or equivalent Must have completed 15F/N Aircraft Electrician/Avionics Repairer Course or other service equivalence and have 4 years Army aviation maintenance experience or 4 years of verifiable experience and a valid FAA Airframe license RESET or depot experience is plus Must be able to read and following drawings and blueprints Must demonstrate knowledge of military technical manuals Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance Proficiency in MS Office suite Must be thoroughly familiar with AR 95-20, DA PAM 738-751, AR 700-138, and all associated aircraft maintenance manuals Must have own tools and ability to meet minimum tool list requirements, applying FOD and tool control best practices in accordance with AR 95-20 and Flight and Ground Operating Procedures We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing. Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances. May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools. Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear. Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
