What do I need as an LPN Staff Educator with Messiah Lifeways? LPN licensed in Pennsylvania Certified in CPR/First Aid with teacher certification Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience with three years in long term care and teaching experience required Must successfully complete and pass the DHS Train-the-Trainer Medication Course within 8 months of employment Evidence of progressive supervisory experience desired Must have discretion, tact, patience, and compassion Excellent interpersonal skills; leadership skills; public speaking skills and teaching ability; creativity in presentation of information and development of programs; attention to detail and the willingness to attempt alternatives Organizational skills that allow for the management of multiple priorities What will I do as a LPN Staff Educator with Messiah Lifeways? Develop, implement, and deliver the new hire orientation programs for new Enhanced Living team members following their first day of Messiah Lifeways General Orientation Coordinate ongoing opportunities for CPR certification to all team members Coordinate presentation of annual mandatory educational in-services and additional in-services, as needed, as procedures and regulations change Assist with procedure manuals for Enhanced Living Neighborhoods in developing and revising procedures, as required Develop, provide and/or assist with coordinating educational opportunities via Relias Coordinate educational opportunities for team members externally to improve knowledge base and increase skill level while also coordinating the communication of information with facility team members through internal in-service education Coordinate the education and orientation needs of contracted and ancillary personnel (i.e. dining, housekeeping, etc.) with the appropriate supervisor Assess and provide for the educational needs of neighborhood team members as situations occur that result in educational deficits Coordinate and facilitate the Department of Human Services Medication class and maintain system to ensure that all supportive documentation remains current Assist the Enhanced Living Director of Nursing with audits, record keeping, education and other audits as assigned Support and cover neighborhood charge nurses during urgent needs Messiah Lifeways is an Equal Opportunity Employer that recruits and hires qualified candidates without regard to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, or veteran status.
