HR Assistant – Bromley Salary: £ 12.48 Per Hour Part time 18 Hours Role Purpose: To provide an administrative support service to the HR Business Services team to ensure the delivery of a high quality effective and efficient service to customers of the Division. Responsibilities: Preparing letters for appointments, terminations and contractual variations liaising with managers and employees as required and having due regard to both payroll deadlines. Provide day to day advice to managers and individual employees on employment matters, pay rates, calculations, salary backssments, contracts, absence management, conditions of service, HR policies and procedures. Refer up issues which lie outside postholder’s knowledge and capability. Monitor and administer staff probation and induction periods ensuring the necessary documentation is completed on time, and appropriate management referrals are made. Undertake photocopying, scanning, electronic filing and provide general support for HR Business Services colleagues as required. Keep temporary fixed term contracts under review – updating and amending contracts and records as appropriate. Management of the HR business services central inbox answering both internal and external queries. Assisting with new appointments Pre-employment checks including references, DBS checks and Medicals. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Department / Section Carry out duties of post with sensitivity and due regard to Council’s Equal Opportunities policy, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
