The Duke Cannon management team is seeking an Independent Sales Associate to drive sales with retail customers and support our sales operations. The position requires a mix of analytical and strategic skills, as well as a personable, collaborative persona to build the best relationships with our customers . You must have a passion and desire to work in a highly dynamic, fast growing, entrepreneurial environment. Primary Responsibilities Support Sales Leaders in all aspects of management for assigned accounts, including annual growth planning, assortment planning, promotional and merchandising plans, and day-to-day account management. Attend numerous regional trade shows to meet with customers directly, pitch our innovation, and build strong relationships with our brokers. The sales associate will also be responsible for sample sends, staff planning, and booth presentation. This could result in up to 40% travel. Report on sales results weekly, provide ideas for driving sales, and execute new Sales team initiatives to maximize our growth. Support new business development through analysis, outreach, research, and follow-ups. Support sales operations and administrative needs, including order execution, vendor set up and paperwork, and managing ad hoc projects. Continue professional growth and knowledge with the expectation to advance within Duke Cannon. Ideal Candidates Requirements The ideal candidate is smart, ambitious, hard-working, resourceful, and willing to work in a very flexible, dynamic, and lean environment. He or she must have the passion and the mindset to work in an entrepreneurial situation. Every day will pose new and different challenges. To be successful, he or she will possess the following skills and attributes: Attention to Detail: ability to oversee projects with multiple, time-dependent tasks and deliver reliably. Personable: Ability to interact in a positive, personable, and constructive manner with customers and sales representatives. The ideal candidate must present the brand effectively and build relationships quickly. Adaptability: Ability to listen effectively to customers’ requests and demands, and turn those requests into sales upside. The Sales Associate is on the front lines of our business, and s/he must be a strong conduit between the customer and the Duke Cannon management team. Strong Business Intelligence, Excel and Analytical Skills: ability to perform a variety of Excel functions as well as analyze data. Proven examples of working in Excel, building models, and using data to influence decisions are required. Self-Starter: Ability to take initiative and seize opportunities using one’s own judgement. The candidate must strive to find ways to consistently add value to the organization without waiting for the next direction. Resourceful: Being scrappy – i.e., accomplishing objectives with fewer resources and help than one might find in a large company – is important. At times, the candidate will need to find new and creative ways to achieve goals. Experience: 1-3 years of previous sales experience in consumer goods or retail is preferred.
