Job Title: Associate Director of Contemporary Worship Ministry Team: Contemporary Worship Job Classification: Salaried Reports To: Director of Contemporary Worship Typical Weekly Hours: 40 Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to Lead the worship band volunteers to generously share their lives and the Gospel through teaching and training people musically. Roles and Responsibilities: · Assist in the planning, organizing, and leading of the Contemporary Worship elements of Sunday morning services, including Sunday morning and Wednesday night rehearsal attendance and participation.· Collaborate with the Director in the selection of worship music.· Assist in recruiting Sunday morning Worship Team members who possess vocal and/or musical skills. Help cultivate a Christ-centered community with the team members on a personal and spiritual level, making them feel a valuable part of the team.· Establish relationships with musicians and vocalists within the Student and College ministries to continue building teams that train and empower younger generations of worshippers.· Be able to learn, train, and offer back-up tech support for events held in the Grace Worship Center.· Have a vision for where God might be calling our team to grow in new expressions of worship.· Attend weekly meetings, including Contemporary departmental meetings, Contemporary Worship Design meetings, and Monthly Asbury All Staff meetings.· Other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Education and Experience:· Bachelor’s degree, with emphasis in Musical Studies or Biblical Studies/Theology preferred.· Strong musical/vocal skills in leading congregational worship· Exceptional leadership and organizational skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities· Solid grounding in scripture; evidence of a vital and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.· Ability to manage time and schedules well and to meet deadlines consistently.· Leadership style that is people-focused, results-oriented, and adaptable to frequent change· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.· Musical skills required to direct/conduct multiple groups simultaneously.· In-depth knowledge of contemporary worship music and history· Working knowledge of Planning Center Online.· Able to arrange parts for traditional instruments (strings, brass, and woodwinds) to integrate them into contemporary worship music seamlessly.· A working knowledge of Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and other music production software to enhance the worship experience and assist in recording audio for live and studio environments.
